Serving Rio Rancho patients at our Albuquerque office.
When low mood, fatigue, or a loss of interest lasts for weeks, it is worth getting help. Vigor Health Services treats depression in patients who travel from Rio Rancho to our Albuquerque office. Our provider, Stephanie Nnamchi, NP, cares for every type of depression, including postpartum depression. She looks at the full picture before recommending a plan, and she offers several treatment paths, from medication management to NeuroStar TMS. The drive from Rio Rancho is a short one.
Recognizing depression
Depression affects how you think, sleep, eat, and connect with others. Common signs include sadness or emptiness, low energy, changes in appetite, poor focus, and feeling hopeless or worthless. After having a baby, some parents notice these feelings too, which may point to postpartum depression. These symptoms are not a personal failing. They are a health condition, and treatment may help.
Treatment options at Vigor
Your first appointment is a 60-minute evaluation. We talk through your background, what you are feeling now, and what you want to change. You may fill out standardized questionnaires. When appropriate, this leads to a diagnosis and a personal plan that can combine therapy strategies, lifestyle support, and medication management. Medication is considered only after the provider has evaluated you.
For people whose depression has not improved with antidepressants, or who could not tolerate them, there are other options. NeuroStar TMS therapy is FDA-cleared for major depressive disorder. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy may also be discussed for depression that has not responded to other treatment.
Making care work from Rio Rancho
Rio Rancho is in Sandoval County, just northwest of Albuquerque. The trip to our office on Mountain Road NE is about 20 miles, or 25 to 35 minutes in typical traffic. Depression care often involves follow-up visits every few weeks while a plan is fine-tuned, and a short drive makes that easier to keep up. Follow-up visits run about 30 minutes.
